Our Mission Statement and Core Values:
Mission StatementEvery member of the 1889ERS Society takes pride in the rich heritage and the preservation of the history of the pioneers that ventured into unknown territory to claim land and establish the settlement of the central portion of Oklahoma, previously unclaimed after the movement and resettlement of Indian Tribes into this area. Our purpose is to perpetuate this history for future generations.
Core ValuesWe believe in striving to maintain the pioneer sprirt prevalent in our rich heritage, and exhibited by our forefathers, by their example, to exercise ethical, moral, and professional behavior in dealing with others.
We believe in working to preserve our history through education, the recording of history, the establishment and caretaking of exhibits, and the preservation of artifacts.
