As a member of THE 1889ERS SOCIETY I have always felt that the Oklahoma Spirit is The Spirit of '89, inherited from the hardy people from all walks of life and parts of the world who made their way to Oklahoma Territory to claim land in the Great Land Run of 1889. They endured hardships we can only imagine to persevere and to "prove up" in order to keep their land.

This spirit and pride still lives today. Our people have continued to overcome many tragedies through the years and still survive and prosper. From a territory we became the 46th State. We have definitely "proved up". We, as 1889ERS feel that we have an obligation to learn about and to preserve this inheritance of history for future generations. Come join us and learn about our "Boomers", "Sooners" and "Boosters".
